Family Friendly Programs

 

The ITC opens the five period buildings on the Back 40 outdoor educational area. Visit the frontier-era log house, fort, adobe house, barn and one-room schoolhouse.

Dressed as pioneers, trail bosses, farmers and ranchers, junior docents guide visitors through a day in frontier life on the museum's Back 40. Visitors will learn how hard work and resourcefulness created communities that shaped the Texas frontier.
