Museum members are invited to enjoy an evening lesson in shodou Japanese calligraphy from Kuniko Kondo and hear a story from Shuichi "Jimmy" Ushijima about a friendship spanning an ocean and 60 years. Martial arts instructor Benjamin Krieser’s students returned to Japan after his passing, paying respects to Jimmy for instilling a love for Japanese culture in Ben, and influencing all their lives - a story documented on Japanese national television. Museum Membership and RSVP required to attend.
