Join Everyday Paranormal for a Late-Night Paranormal Investigation November 8, 2008 On Nov. 8, 2008, UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures will host a paranormal investigation on the exhibit floor, led by the internationally recognized team Everyday Paranormal of Schertz, Texas. While UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures neither confirms nor denies the existence of the paranormal, the museum recognizes that every cultural group that has come to Texas has a place for the paranormal in its folklore. The museum has been featured on various television channels and in media productions for its stories of purported paranormal activity. The museum's folklorist, Rhett Rushing, will discuss the tales of local hauntings, followed by a guided investigation through areas of the museum where paranormal activities have been reported. The intent of the investigation is to record any paranormal activity that might be in the building that evening.
All participants are encouraged to wear dark, non-reflective clothing. Some recording equipment will be available for sharing, but participants are encouraged to bring their own hand-held still cameras, video cameras, recording devices, digital thermometers and electromagnetic meters. Flashlights are encouraged, but please bring only those that use AA batteries or smaller. Participants are asked to follow the directions of museum staff and the Everyday Paranormal team. To ensure everyone's enjoyment, professional decorum must be maintained. Anyone creating a disturbance or distraction will be escorted from the event with no refund. |
