WHAT:
San Antonio’s Puerto Rican community invites Texans to celebrate with a day of music, dance, arts and customs highlighting the unique culture and folkways of Puerto Rico at the Institute of Texan Cultures.
Music and dance presentations will feature veteran Texas Folklife Festival performers Ballet Folklorico Boriken and Ecos de Puerto Rico, along with performances by Raices Campesinas and Pleneros de San Anton.
Club Damas de Puerto Rico and La Marginal Restaurant will present "Go Bananas for Puerto Rican Cooking," including sampling of Puerto Rican staples such as bananas and plantains.
The Puerto Rican Heritage Society will present other aspects of Puerto Rican Heritage: fine arts, clothing and craftsmanship; including children’s take-home crafts.
The Puerto Rican Cultural Showcase is being held in conjunction with the ongoing "40 Years of Texas Folklife Festival Memories" exhibit.

Regular hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The Puerto Rico Cultural Showcase is included in regular admission.
