Volunteer at a Special Event The Institute of Texan Cultures relies on volunteers to help make our events and programs a success. Whether you’re a student needing volunteer hours, a kind-hearted citizen who enjoys volunteering at events or a corporate neighbor who prides yourself on giving back to the community, we have a role for you! Our volunteer opportunities include a variety of tasks that require outstanding customer service. We also have behind the scenes jobs including (but not limited to) freight elevator operators, set up and take down, special museum promotions, to name a few. NOTE! Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities Asian Festival Texas Folklife Festival First Aid Volunteers Please note that all first-aid volunteers must sign up by phone or e-mail. Call 210-458-2216; e-mail tffvolunteer@uta.edu or denise.villarreal@utsa.edu. Volunteer Information Center (VIC) We have added a new tool — the Volunteer Information Center! Volunteers may easily log in, sign up to volunteer, check schedules, update information, communicate with the volunteer office and more, all online! New volunteers: New volunteers must apply first! During the application process you will be asked to set up a password. Please keep it handy as you will need it to log in to the Volunteer Information Center. Once your application is completed and approved, you will be registered and may access the center any time. Forgot your password? No worries, click on the Volunteer Information Center, enter your e-mail and click "Forgot Password." Your password will be e-mailed to you. You also may call (210) 458-2216. Returning/Registered volunteers: If you currently have an e-mail address on file with our office, you will be sent an e-mail message containing your personal password. Once received, simply log into the Volunteer Information Center and get started. If you do not currently have an e-mail address on file with our office, please contact us at (210) 458-2216.
