Free Second Sundays

Second Sundays Free at ITC

 
SAN ANTONIO – The Institute of Texan Cultures will begin offering a free Second Sunday at the museum, every month, effective Oct. 13.
 
The schedule of free Sundays includes:
 
October 13
November 10
December 8
January 12
February 9
March 9
April 13
May 11
July 13
August 10
 
 
There is no free Sunday in June, as the museum hosts the Texas Folklife Festival that weekend and festival admission applies.
 
Second Sundays will give museum attendees access to all scheduled exhibits and any scheduled Sunday programs. Notably, the second Sunday in November, Nov. 10, includes a 2 p.m. lecture in conjunction with the current exhibit, "The 201st Fighter Squadron: Mexico Joins the Fight in WWII." Through the course of the year, visitors will be able to see two Smithsonian traveling exhibits, UTSA student exhibits, the Texas Contemporary Artists Series and a Fiesta exhibit featuring Fiesta hats.
 
The Institute of Texan Cultures is located at 801 E. César E. Chávez Blvd. Regular hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Saturday; noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults (ages 12-64); $7 for seniors (ages 65+); $6 for children (ages 3-11); free with membership, UTSA or Alamo Colleges identification and second Sundays.
