About the Exhibit:
Hats Off to Fiesta
March 28, 2014 - July 6, 2014
Towering above the crowd, Fiesta hats are an over-the-top part of San Antonio’s Fiesta celebration. This year’s ITC Fiesta exhibit showcases nearly 50 Fiesta hats ranging from a pink Bird of Paradise to a colorful beehive, and even the Institute of Texan Cultures itself. Big, small, or covered with twinkling lights, Hats Off to Fiesta! is a must this Fiesta season!
In conjunction with this year’s main exhibit, the Academy of Career and Technologies Charter High School’s fashion and design program has prepared "Colors of Fiesta," a student Fiesta hat exhibit. In addition, the museum will feature a Fiesta Medal Mania! sash for 2014 Fiesta medals; and, in partnership with the San Antonio Conservation Society, A Night in Old San Antonio: A History in Photographs offers a retrospective photo collage of one of Fiesta’s most attended event.
Note, the Institute of Texan Cultures will host "Fiesta Fan Fest," the annual medal weigh-in, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., Monday, Apr. 28.
