(SAN ANTONIO) – The UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures will offer a 20% discount on room rentals for new customers reserving their spaces now through August 30, when reserving space for 2020.
With the new school and fiscal year coming and organizations setting their calendars, the institute’s rental spaces are ready to host training, retreats, strategy meetings, mixers and dozens of other events, indoor or outdoor.
Best known for its Dome Theater, the inside space can accommodate large gala and party events, panel discussions, and even viewings, bringing its 26 screens into play. The institute recently held a naturalization ceremony, with stage, podium, band setup, seating for 250, and a custom dome show with patriotic images from American history.
Other dome configurations use table seating for 500 or pub tables to accommodate up to 1,000. Clients often use the dome to project sponsor logos, discussion topics, featured video, or photo albums.
The institute offers two rental spaces on its third floor, ideal for small receptions, lunch meetings, private dinners, classes and events under 100 attendees. The Connally Conference Room and the Briscoe Heritage Room give a client an opportunity to choose round group tables, classroom seating, theater-style seating, U-shape or square board meeting set-ups. Both event spaces include complete audiovisual systems and computers for video presentations. Clients often rent the two spaces together, with one room hosting classes and the other serving as a break and lunch room, with buffet and seating ready.
Clients have access to two additional indoor spaces: The Texas Room, and the Auditorium, both located on the first floor. The Texas Room is ideal for strategy meetings, with a boardroom setup and seating for 18. Across the hall is the Auditorium, and it can be used for stage production, theater seating, small group tables, U-shape and square board meetings.
With temperatures dropping in late fall and early winter, the ITC’s outdoor Back Patio, Veranda, and Back 40 area make for excellent event spaces. The UTSA Alumni Association holds its tailgates at the institute with each UTSA home football game, Villanova held its victory parties at the institute during the NCAA Final Four, and Washington State University for the 2018 Alamo Bowl. Between the back patio, verandas and Back 40 outdoor area, the grounds are ideal for large-scale parties, barbecues, performances, and festivals.
