Rate Change at the Institute of Texan Cultures

Museum admission consistent with local cultural destinations

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures will implement a new admission structure effective April 1, 2016.
  • Complimentary admission to children ages 0 – 5.
  • Student age range is now 6 – 17 and admission is $8.00.
  • Adult age range is now 18 – 64 and admission is $10.00.
  • Senior age range is 65+ and admission is $8.00.
  • Military admission is $8.00. The museum will offer complimentary admission to military via the Blue Star Museums program between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
  • College admission rate is $8.00. UTSA and Alamo Colleges students continue to receive complimentary admission with ID.
  • The exhibit floor field trip rate remains $3.00 per student.
  • Adding a Back 40 portion to a field trip/group tour is now $3.00 per student
The Institute of Texan Cultures maintained its previous rate structure for more than five years. The new structure expands complimentary children’s admission to age 5. The new rates remain competitive with other cultural destinations across the city. The new Back 40 rate takes effect September 1, 2016.

The Institute of Texan Cultures is located on the UTSA Hemisfair Campus, 801 E. César E. Chávez Blvd., a short distance from the Alamo and the River Walk. Regular hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Saturday; noon-5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 210-458-2300 or visit TexanCultures.com.
