Planned Giving

Planned gifts or legacies allow the Institute of Texan Cultures to build its endowment and ensure that the museum is telling the stories of Texans for years to come.

A gift from your estate may reduce your tax burden, increase your income and enhance your family’s legacy.

There are a variety of options, such as a bequest in your will, to life-income gifts, which can provide you with an income during your lifetime before the institute may benefit from your gift. A plan can be developed that will work toward your charitable and financial goals while supporting the institute.

For more information, call your estate planning professional or contact the Advancement Office at (210) 458-2213.

Annual Fund

A donation to the museum's annual fund allows the Institute of Texan Cultures to enhance its collections, as well as maintain the artifacts we currently have.

Museum exhibitions and festivals provide some income, and the museum does receive some financial assistance from the state legislature, but our operating costs and future acquisitions can be met only through additional financial contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations.

Your gifts are important as the museum plans renovations to better tell the stories of Texas’ many cultures.

You can make a contribution easily through our secure system within UTSA’s annual fund. Click Here

Be sure to specify the Institute of Texan Cultures within the pull-down menu in the Designation field.

Memorial Gifts

Legacies allow the Institute of Texan Cultures to build its endowment and ensure that the museum's stories of Texans can be told for years to come. You can honor the memory of a loved one through a donation to our endowment fund.

Artifact Donation

The Institute of Texan Cultures produces exhibits that explore Texas’s cultural heritage, focusing primarily on the lifestyles and historical contributions of its varied ethnic groups. The collections staff accepts both donations and loans for exhibition and research.

Artifacts of cultural and unique value are not used for demonstration purposes and are handled only by curatorial staff and trained volunteers. Items are placed in secure, climate-controlled storage until exhibition. Artifacts are researched by our team, who develop the exhibit content.
