We offer a variety of engaging educator professional development opportunities and programs throughout the school year, and focus on providing you with quality resources and activities you can take back to your classroom.

Holocaust Remembrance Week

Date: Jan 15, 2020

Location: UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures, 801 E. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd. and various locations
Cost: $20

Join the Institute of Texan Cultures and the Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio to learn about Holocaust history and the story of Jewish Texas immigration. You will have a chance to watch testimonial video, work with lesson resources and learn Holocaust pedagogy. End the evening exploring the Jewish Texan exhibit. Learn about the history of Jewish Texan immigration and how to incorporate visible thinking strategies including photograph analysis into your classroom.
CPE: 3 hours

  • Customized Workshops

    We are happy to customize a workshop utilizing the museum resources and exhibit floor for you school or district. To provide the best experience we ask for at least 3 weeks’ notice and fees may apply.

  • Saturday Workshops

    Morning workshops focusing on special topics or current temporary exhibits and how they may be used as a resource in the classroom. Materials and refreshments provided. Separate registration for each session is required. Attending educators are awarded CPE credits. STAY TUNED FOR OUR SPRING SCHEDULE.

  • Summer Institute For Educators

    A week-long professional development conference focusing on a special topic. Open to educators of all grade levels and subject areas, this thematic workshop provides an intensive look into a specific area of study while providing attendees the opportunity to network and gain access to related resources. Attending educators are awarded CPE credits.
